The Sparrows…. Matthew 6:26 yet the Heavenly Father feeds them.
Prayer
This was painted for Lent March 2014 . I painted three apostles praying to our Father in heaven. The whiteness is the presence of God blessing and hearing their prayer. Pray to God for he is good our father of everlasting love.
In your hands …
In your hands represents Jesus as our protector. He holds the whole world in his hands . On his lap is an image of the earth. This oil painting is a younger version of Jesus I wanted to paint an abstract background. In the background are the wings of the Holy Spirit: an Olive leaf resembles peace. Jesus is the center of the Holy Spirit. He sits on the throne.
Our meeting place.
Sandbridge Virginia Beach is where I used to go to write in my journal to God. I would visit the ocean weekly to write to my father in heaven. In my journal my entries say ” dear papa” I poured out my hopes, sorrow and prayers. I cried, out to God in desperate moments in my life. After two years of soul searching it was there I felt the presence and calmness of God in my life. He leads me to still waters. My years lived in VB 2010 thru 2012 were just stepping stones in my life to make me who I am today. It was there I realized that living in a beautiful place is not the same if I had no one to share it with as in my family. Today I am strong in faith and serve The Lord my God. One amazing thing about this painting in the center of the painting is a small white and blue image almost resembling a outline on Jesus walking toward the ocean. I didn’t paint that my mother pointed it out one summer morning . It was suppose to be water but the image keeps appearing back. Even if it is a defected canvas I decided to leave it alone. It is my special signature for this painting.’
On earth as it is in heaven….
Where to begin..this oil painting was created in spring thru summer 2013. At the time of this painting I became spiritually connected to the book of revelation. I was so involved with the words and meanings that I literally started to dream about the gates to heaven. Of course my painting doesn’t even compare to the beauty and brightness of heaven nor my dream.
In my dream I saw a yellow gold passageway leading to two large white gates made out of wrought iron or sturdy material. I saw more than one gate, two other gates on each side almost like east and west. The gates where heavy and tall in height. I was just standing there looking I felt so small. I dreamt of a man guarding the gate.. and brightness beyond the gate. He cracked the gate open and I was awaken. On memory I wrote my dream in my journal and sketched it. Through prayer and spiritual guidance from the holy spirit I started to paint. I kept adding bits and pieces from the book of revelation 11:15. Which mentions the 7th angel blowing the trumpet. A sign that the Lord has taken over the kingdom of the world. In my painting the male angel on the left is guarding the gate to heaven. To the right a female angel is blowing the 7th trumpet. If you look closely in my painting hiding among the midst of the flowers are angels and trumpets.
Come to the Cross
Come to the Cross.. a dream.
This painting is based on a dream I had. In my dream I was confronting others saying that we must obey God’s law and read the bible. I was mocked and people started to turn away laughing at me. I was climbing up a rocky dirt mountain. I saw two crosses and a figure resembling Jesus.. Jesus was dressed in sack cloth. His arms where reaching out. The mountain started to crumble rocks where rolling down the hill people where running falling. I was not harmed nor scared I kept climbing. The words in my mind where ” come to the cross” and “ask for forgiveness”. I had the dream in spring 2013. My painting is a blur image because I dreamt in shades of brown and white.
Moses and the ten commandments
The laws of God written on stone for his chosen people were given to Moses on mount Sinai. I painted this during the month of Feb 2013. This painting is one of my favorites. I prayed over my canvas for several days because I wanted the holy spirit to direct me to paint a spiritual message. The feelings and urges were all leading toward Moses. I was inspired by other artist who painted images of moses….so I combined several ideas from their paintings and created my own version of Moses. The first commandment ” I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me ” is painted in Hebrew.
Come Holy Spirit of God.
The dove a symbolic of the holy spirit. My light and guidance in my soul. When we are reborn through baptism we open the door to invite the holy spirit into our body where the holy spirit dwells in our soul. As believers of Jesus we welcome and learn how to listen to what the holy spirit of God is telling us or guiding us in our life and faith. This is a partial portion of a painting from Feb 2013. I painted this after attending a holy spirit empowerment session at my local church.
